Bears stadium thoughts:

The frustrating part is this has been years in the making.

The Bears bought Arlington Park. They explored the lakefront. They went back to Arlington Heights. Indiana got involved. Everyone saw this coming, and Illinois still waited until the last second.

This is like coming out of a timeout and taking a delay of game. You had time. You knew the situation. And somehow you still weren’t ready.

The NFL is a business. Soldier Field is iconic, but it limits revenue. A modern stadium district means premium seating, concerts, naming rights, Final Fours, Super Bowls, and year-round money.

Illinois treated this like a homework assignment they got months ago but started at 11:58 the night before it was due.
