Grain markets are active ahead of the October 9 WASDE report. In September 2026, Grains & Oilseeds reached a record average daily open interest of 9.66M contracts, sustaining high activity into early October.
Traders are focused on:
🌽 Corn: Old-crop stockpiles rose to 2.10 billion bushels, surpassing expectations. Will the USDA revise its 15.1 billion bushel forecast?
🫘 Soybeans: Ending stocks were lowered to 310 million bushels in September, despite slight yield increases.
🌾 Wheat: Global supply is tightening due to dry weather in Europe and crop shifts in South America.
