Pricing your home can be one of the hardest parts of the home selling process, and it’s one where you definitely need the experience and knowledge of a real estate agent on your side. There’s a lot that goes into determining your home’s value and the right listing price for the market.

First, your agent will complete a market analysis. In this process, they’ll look at the real estate market in your area and find comparable properties that are currently on the market or recently sold.

Then you’ll get a home appraisal. A professional real estate appraiser will come view your home and tell you what your property’s fair market value is. This is the true value of your home.

Your agent will then take both the market analysis and the home appraisal and, drawing on their experience and market knowledge, synthesize them together to come up with your home’s value and listing price.

As you can see, this isn’t really something you’ll want to try on your own. You definitely want a real estate agent to help you out during this process!
