🚨 Real estate scammers are targeting agents — and I have the receipts.

In ONE week, I received emails from fake “buyers” on my listings AND fake title companies trying to get me to click malicious links.

Here’s their playbook: 👉 They find your listing on Compass or Zillow 👉 They send a professional-looking email pretending to be an interested buyer 👉 They push HARD for a Zoom or Google Meet link — one THEY control 👉 You click → they access your email → they send fake wire instructions to ALL your contacts

They also impersonate real title companies like First American Title — complete with spoofed logos — sending fake settlement statements and HUD closing documents with phishing links embedded inside. It looks completely legitimate. The email address is the only giveaway.

🚩 Red flags to watch for:

Gmail address with no phone number
Won’t do a regular phone call — only wants Zoom or Google Meet
Relocation or couple story to create urgency
Professional-sounding name but personal Gmail
Settlement or HUD email coming from a non-title-company domain
Links to “preview” wire instructions or closing documents
⚠️ NEVER click an unsolicited link. ALWAYS call your title company directly using a number YOU look up — not one provided in the email.
