Hello to all our homies. It is I, Rick the owner, and I have a big announcement!
Almost 7 years ago I signed my lease for this place, it was a complete shell with tons of potential in a neighborhood I loved. I’m incredibly proud of this place, our community, and what we have achieved over the years.
That is why it’s so difficult for me to announce that I will be stepping down as the owner of Bokeh next week. But, don’t panic! Bokeh isn’t going anywhere! I’m excited to have found new ownership that will be taking the reins from me and breathing new life into the space. I’m very excited to see what changes may be coming and I, as always, am rooting for this place.
I want to thank sooooo many people who have supported me over the years. Everyone who bought a hot dog and a to go cocktail during the pandemic and kept me afloat, thank you. All of our amazing regulars and friends, thank you. All of our amazing djs over the years, thank you. Most importantly, thank you to former and current crew members who helped build and rebuild this place and worked so hard to make this place a success.
I’ll be behind the bar one last time this coming Saturday to hug it out with all of you. I hope you’ll come send me off!
I won’t be disappearing completely, I am opening a cafe in East Garfield Park called and it should be opening this fall. Come visit the conservatory and then pop in and say hi!
I’m going to miss you all and this place and I couldn’t be more grateful for the people I met and the experiences I had during my time here. Thanks so much for everything and cheers to Bokeh! xoxo 😘

Oh hello. It’s looking to be a stormy and cozy evening up in here! Jonah is on deck to keep you company tonight until late. This here drink is one of our lovely N/A options if you don’t feel like imbibing. It’s our house made lemon rosemary shrub with a little shugga and soda with a torched rosemary sprig for funsies. Our sweeeet treeeeat is a vanilla bean cheesecake with chocolate ganache. Goes great with a glass of rosé or one of our fancy cocktails. Aside from all the smoke out there it’s looking like a nice night! Come celebrate the mid week with us until late and snag some late night happy hour! xoxo 😘
