April Clark, known artistically as April Clark Art, is a Chicago-based visual artist and educator whose work blends abstraction, portraiture, and nostalgic cultural influence through vibrant color and intentional line.
For over a decade, her work has explored art as a tool for healing, reflection, and transformation.
Today, that vision expands through Bo Rossi — The Vision Dealer, a creative practice offering immersive workshops and experiences that invite artists and communities to live boldly and create with intention.

This Women’s History Month, we’re proud to celebrate women who are creating, preserving stories, and shaping culture through their art. Join us in welcoming Tanikia “Nikki” Carpenter, host of Give Us Our Flowers on March 21st.
Born on the South Side of Chicago, Nikki is a playwright and actor and the writer of the award-winning documentary Roots and Blues, honoring Blues legend Muddy Waters. She is the founder of Good Content Productions and the creator of Black Theatre Chicago, a platform highlighting Black theatre artists and productions across the city.
In 2024, was selected as a researcher/writer for the August Wilson Society’s upcoming book Centering & Celebrating Wilsonian Warriors. In 2025, she received the DCASE Playwright in Residency grant from the City of Chicago, and her play The Last Senior Home in Bronzeville was workshopped at Goodman Theatre as part of their 100 Free Acts of Theatre initiative.
has also credited Nikki’s poem “No Grandfather’s in Chicago” as the inspiration for his song “No More Old Men” featuring Jamila Woods.
We’re honored to have Nikki guiding the evening as we celebrate the brilliance of women artists in Chicago!
