Why salt potatoes in the garden?

Table salt was previously used by gardeners as an affordable alternative to mineral fertilizers. It is believed that salt can increase the yield and taste of root crops grown in poor soils. However, to get a good harvest, it is still better to use specialized fertilizers, including sodium nitrate and potash fertilizers.
