**When “just a little straining” isn’t so little 💛**

We recently met a sweet senior dog who was having trouble urinating💦 for several weeks—frequent attempts, straining, and passing only small amounts of urine tinged with blood each time. What was thought to be a urinary tract infection was actually a palmful of bladder stones! 😮

With timely diagnostics, treatments💉, and a delicate surgery ✂, we were able to prevent a complete obstruction, remove the stones, and give our friend some serious pain relief and a new lease on life!- check out his before and after X-rays and all the stones we collected! 🐶❤️😊

👀Here are some signs it's time help:
- Straining or taking a longer time to urinate or any abnormal urine stream
- Urinating small amounts frequently
- Blood-tinged or pink urine
- Accidents in a previously house-trained pet
- Lethargy, decreased appetite, or signs of pain or hiding
- Repeated posturing with little to no urine (this is an Emergency! 🚨)

Bladder stones can lead to life-threatening urinary obstruction—especially in male pets. Early screening for urinary issues can make all the difference! 📝

Kitten Season highlights!! 🥰 While the tiniest of cutie-patooties may be giving you the itch for one- we encourage you to get prepared for parenthood first! 😍🐱✨

Tiny paws= big responsibility: newborn kittens are the most delicate and need everything from warmth, frequent feedings of milk replacer (often every 2-3 hours), and close monitoring of “ins-and-outs”. Bring them in for a check-up to ensure they’re healthy and that their needs are being met! 🏥

If a kitten is too young to use the litter box on their own, they’ll need help urinating and defecating after feeds- use a warm, damp cotton ball to swab their behind. Keep handling gentle, wash hands before and after contact, and minimize exposure to other animals during the first few weeks.😷

Kitten season is cute, chaotic, and full of questions— these little ones depend on us for everything!- and with TLC and our veterinary guidance, we’ll be sure they’ll have the safest, most adorable adventures with you! 🏥🐾💛
