This happened yesterday night during my accountability circle's power-hour. I was reminded of a very important lesson in life.

It can happen with anyone of us, no matter how saintly our LinkedIn profile appears. Nobody is so right that they can never be wrong, after all.

I commented on a 3rd person (not in the meeting) and the fact that i won't consider him successful. And right there one of my accountability partners stopped me and dove deeper into where that opinion came from in my mind.

I'm a work in progress, but even I didn't realize how that sounded. I'm grateful for such moments of brutal where a team partner feels safe in challenging and correcting me. I knew my mistake and apologized for it.



Something to think about.

LISTEN.

Time and again, my mentor reminds me of my tendency to "listen to respond" when I should "listen to understand".

Lack of ACTIVE LISTENING is one of the biggest reasons for lack of proper information, as it leads to needless biases, inefficient strategies, operational losses, increased time and monetary costs, and even mistrust among mates.

Discussing things out and having a is the key to clarify things and have our actions and thoughts aligned with our individual and team .

STOP telling to work harder. It didn't do anything for the 40-something old guy sitting at home frustrated right now with life.

Covid19 is just an enabler for us to self-reflect.

Young professionals don't need fake motivation today.

Here's what you can give them RIGHT NOW-

--> Refer ONE of them
--> Find ONE company that's hiring and post in comments
--> Share ONE market insight
--> Give ONE of them a simple "All the best"

I'm not an authority on blogging or personal brand building, but if this had occurred when I was graduating, I would rather have appreciated actionable advice instead of random video bloggers trying to get my likes.

People today need real & practical advice on how to navigate through these interesting times.

Let's learn how to work smart and adapt to the changing times.
