Big project. 🏗️ Big team. 👷‍♂️ Big impact!! 🤩

The Oppidan Data Center in Olathe, KS was already on our 2025 photo list thanks to our longtime client Enterprise Precast Concrete (EPCI) — our longest-running partner. Then The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company reached out to see if we could support the project as well, and ultimately, the collaboration expanded to serve 5 clients with dynamic imagery:

• The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company (GC)

• Salas O'Brien (architect – Topeka team)

• Enterprise Precast Concrete (precast)

• Doherty Steel (precast erector)

• AltusGroup - Precast innovation powered by collaboration (precast trade organization)

To capture the scale of this facility, the pole tripod was set up for higher-elevation shots around the entire perimeter of the building—giving the project that larger-than-life perspective it deserves. Lots of Photoshop cleanup helped polish the final images - from the normal asphalt, curbs, and rocks, to a car parked in front of the building and another visible in the window reflection, removing distracting elements to showcase the design, and much more. One reason the building looks so dynamic is because the City of Olathe required a higher end level of aesthetics due to the data center building being so near to a residential neighborhood - and it sure delivers.

Congratulations to EPCI and Oppidan on earning a 2026 Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Design Award in the highly competitive Data Center category!

Honored to see our images shot for Universal Construction Company made it onto the cover & inside a fantastic feature article in The Builders AGCs 'Modern Builder Magazine' Summer 2025 Issue!

It was a joy to capture Metropolitan Community College - Maple Woods campus's new Agriculture Annex, an apx 9500 SF facility with classrooms & a 2100 SF connected greenhouse, designed by Clark & Enersen.

Every shoot is unique, and in this one, it was a delight to stage the animals in the classroom and meet some day old baby chicks. The greenhouse required a slower shutter speed to show the fan spinning and extra editing on the floor to clear some leaves, water spots, etc. The exterior cover shot was captured with the Manfrotto pole tripod, which capturing from a higher elevation lends grandeur to every project; it appears to be from a drone, but it's from a full-frame DSLR at 50 Megapixels resulting in superior quality than a drone.

Thank you to Zak Smith for working with Arch Photo KC on our 4th project together, and the custom page he created and mailed with the magazine was such a special touch.

It is a true joy seeing clients' project images featured in important industry publications!

It was a great pleasure and surprise to see our client Austin Sandridge with Luminous Lighting KC recently at Contractors, Closers & Connections (CCC) of Kansas City!

Thanks to CCC's amazing Holiday event, we originally made the connection with Luminous Lighting last December, which soon led to this assignment in capturing their exterior illumination work at a Lee's Summit residence. It was a frigid evening but you can't tell by the end result in the photos!

We were informed one of the images was going on his new van, so we went all out in the editing and replaced the average-looking dusk sky with a beautiful sunset. Check out the Before & After! One of the images looked best the other way from left to right so we provided 2 mirror images of the same signature shot, and the mirror image appeared on the van.

Austin also made a "mean" pulled pork for the event and he sent a big tray home with us - thank you, Austin! It was fun to take our photo next to the van, and today we noticed one of the images is now the landing page at https://www.luminous-kc.com/. Check them out!

Congrats to Universal Construction on the completion of Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods's new Agriculture Annex!

It's a really sharp looking project with a thoughtful design. The facility features a 2,100 SF greenhouse, a lecture hall, multipurpose space, and a laboratory classroom.

This was our first greenhouse we've ever shot and the flowers were so lovely. It was fun to stage the classroom with the animals and to meet 1 day old baby chicks!

Many thanks to Zak Smith for being so fun to work with. This was our 4th photoshoot for Universal Construction and we look forward to the next. Cheers to continued success!

Congratulations to Tria Health on their recognition with a Kansas City Business Journal 2025 Capstone Real Estate Award in the Office category!

We were proud to license these images to Tria Health, which were originally commissioned by the talented group at Generator Studio and we also had the pleasure of licensing images to PMA Engineering as well. Other parties involved are 3D Development & Complete Property Solutions Corp.

To summarize KCBJ's article linked below:
"Tria Health is the first office tenant attached to Grand Place in Downtown Kansas City. The redevelopment of the original Kansas City Star newspaper building creates a space that meets the functional needs of a health care provider while honoring the building’s rich architectural heritage.

The office design balances maximizing natural light and maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors while ensuring privacy and HIPAA compliance through strategic acoustical separation.

Tria’s new office amplifies and celebrates the building’s historic reuse, with exposed brick and steel paired with fixtures created using machinery parts from the original print rooms. The expansive break room is accented with copper pipes affixed to the countertop bases and light fixtures with shades created from old turbines."

We're sharing 4 Before & Afters because the transformations were very drastic, especially when you have to balance the view outdoors with the interior space. It takes hours to make some images perfect, but it's so fulfilling in the end. And then, when witnessing clients beng recognized with top industry awards in-person at the elegant awards ceremony, it's one of the proudest moments in this profession!

"It's all in the photos!" But, our clients do the true hard work; we just get to help show it off when it's done. Congrats to all!
