It is designed to work in opposition to consumer culture. afterschoolmatters.org We take these objects and repurpose them to make them valuable, useful, or simply aesthetically pleasing. Upcycling is designed to work in opposition of consumer culture, encouraging teens to think of new and innovative ways to use things, instead of simply buying new consumer goods. It also benefits the community by promoting reuse over discarding whenever possible.
The teens had a great semester! We have wrapped up the Spring 2013 program and are looking forward to summer. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication, teens!
The teens all completed their midterms! Let's hope for warmer weather so we can go outside to create and find art. Congrats to all for making it through the last two days! Keep up the great work!
