There are many rumors circulating on social media and online posts claiming that “ the $2,000 stimulus checks already have dates to be deposited.” This is No such fact! Relying on information from social media could be risky. This can also be a part of a scam, where people are asked to provide bank details or personal information. Please be cautious!

(IRS) has not yet made any official announcement that a $2,000 check will be given out to eligible Americans.

A law is required to issue a stimulus check, meaning the United States Congress would have to provide funding and legislative approval for that relief.

No such certified law has been passed yet. Therefore, it’s important to understand that right now, this is only speculation.

If the law pass, here's what to do: File your tax returns (2024 taxes, etc.). Keep your bank account, address, contact information, updated by logging in your IRS online account using ID.me. This will make verification easier if a check is issued.

Beware of scams: If you receive information from the IRS via email or text message regarding your banking information, consider it fraud.

It’s important to understand the difference between “a check might come” and “a check is definitely coming.” This will help you prepare yourself mentally. ✌🏽
