In law, embryos are often described with language that reduces them to the status of physical property. Widely used terms such as “material,” “products of conception,” and “donation” imply that embryos are objects that can be owned by another human being, rather than individual human beings with their own rights, value, and inherent dignity.

Human beings should never be considered property.
