I worked with bronze this last semester and filled my pants’ pockets with wax to take molds. Those molds were then burned out and cast in bronze. I put the heavy objects back in my pockets, and due to the heavyweight, they would pull down my pants whenever I wore them. I gave my semester presentation having those bronze pieces hidden in my pockets. Being in a room with professors and students while presenting my work, risking standing there with fallen pants, was me trying to face fear. The fear of exposing myself. Everyone noticed my heavy-falling pants, but nobody would say a word. It wasn’t announced as a piece, a work, or a performance. Just a situation we all find ourselves in, not knowing what the outcome may be.
