Anyone who knows me knows that my obsession with outer space is REAL 😬 but I'm even more obsessed with the one who created it all! This book will not be just a book. It's a love letter to God Himself. I can't help but be amazed at His out-of-this-world creations! This project has been my favorite one yet.

This past weekend, I went camping for the very first time for my dog's birthday and also because I was stressed and needed to disconnect haha! It was a win-win situation.

I also did a lot of thinking and reflecting. Not only about my personal life but also about what the next step in my professional life looks like. In conversation, a good friend of mine Spoke about how to wait well in seasons of uncertainty. Waiting well doesn't necessarily mean we sit, wait, and do nothing. It means we should actively wait to be prepared for what God has for us next.

I've been asking myself what "waiting well" looks like for me and I think it means spending time with Jesus every day, bringing Him into my desires and decisions, and glorifying Him with the work of my hands. And this is the first step! I am so excited about the next project I am working on. Can you guess what it is? 👀📘🖍🖍

Reading this cute little book by Kobi Yamada, gifted to me by a good friend of mine, reminded me of the "muchness" we have in Christ. He is that hope and joy that many of us seek and want to find. This week has been pretty stressful between work, school, personal responsibilities, and major life changes. But through all the chaos and all the changes, I know who my constant is 🤍🙏🏽

This is such a short and simple little book that made me reflect a lot 💡

Over the past year, I have tried to figure out exactly what to do with this business. Publishing children's books sounds great but it feels like something is missing. I notice this feeling often when I write a poem or story I love but can't find any good reason to publish it other than "it would be cool." Publishing a book takes time, effort, and investment. A cost I feel is too high to pay to publish something that is just "cool." Instead, I want to make an impact. An impact on any family who reads a book I publish but, first, I needed to understand what kind of impact I wanted to make and, after a few months of contemplating, all roads led back to God. My faith and love for Jesus is important in my life and I want to share about it with everyone!

In 2023 and moving forward, the purpose of Deep Waters Publishing is to inspire children to seek God and His word. Currently, I am working on a story titled "Creator of the Universe." It's a poetic tale of a little girl's love for God and her obsession with His creation of outer space. This is just one of many projects to come over the next year!

I am excited for all the changes and new projects. I am looking forward to this adventure. Happy new year everyone! 🎇
