Every story has a beginning—and ours starts with Tania!
More than 30 years ago, Tania and her mother, Carolyn, opened Promise Patch Kids with a dream of creating a loving place for children and families. What began as a small endeavor inspired by her own young family grew into a center that has served generations of children.
Tania's caring nature, strong values, and dedication to children remain woven into the fabric of Promise Patch Kids. Her influence can be seen not only in the center itself, but in the relationships built with families over the years.
Thank you for helping make it all possible. 💛 Tania Riedel

Appreciating Mrs. Mulhern 💛
Mrs. Mulhern teaches Kindergarten and K4 and has been working with children for an incredible 42 years.
What she loves most about working with children is witnessing those special "aha" moments and experiencing their open, kind, and loving nature.
One of her favorite things to do with her students is reading together and going on field trips.
A fun fact about Mrs. Mulhern is that she now teaches the children of some of her former students! She also biked 1,183 miles in 2025 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
We appreciate the wisdom, dedication, and care she brings to Promise Patch Kids each day.
Let's show this amazing lady some love!

Family-style dining is a key part of our daily routine at Promise Patch Kids!
Our children are encouraged to serve themselves and choose what foods they want to try, helping build independence and confidence around food. Because everyone shares serving utensils, they also naturally learn important hygiene habits—like keeping hands clean and avoiding touching their face.
Mealtimes are also social learning moments. Children practice manners, patience, and taking turns while eating together.
Simple actions like using tongs or peeling bananas support fine motor development, which connects directly to early writing skills.
It’s a simple routine with powerful learning behind it. ☀️

Highlighting Dani 🧡
Dani is one of our substitute teachers with the preschool-age children. She has been working with kids for 7 years.
What she loves most about working with children is watching their minds “turn” as they learn new information. She also values being a comforting, safe space for children when they are sad or hurt.
One of her favorite things to do with her class is playing outside.
A fun fact about Dani is that she is about to graduate from UW. She also holds an associate’s degree in Early Childhood and is CPR and First Aid certified.
We appreciate the support and care she brings to our classrooms.
