🪖 Featured Artwork: "Never Forget" by Gary Evans 🪖

Some moments in history leave a lasting mark on a nation. In "Never Forget," artist Gary Evans honors the memory of those lost and affected by the events of September 11, 2001.

Crafted in wood, this thoughtful piece depicts the silhouette of a soldier standing watch, a symbol of service, sacrifice, and remembrance. The simple yet powerful design invites viewers to reflect on the courage of first responders, military personnel, and everyday citizens who came together during one of America's most challenging times.

As part of our Americana: Red, White & Blue exhibit, Never Forget reminds us that patriotism is often expressed through remembrance, resilience, and a commitment to preserving the stories that shape our shared history.

🦬 Featured Artwork: "Bubalus Mechanica" by Student Artist 🦬

One of the most imaginative pieces in our Americana: Red, White & Blue exhibit comes from a talented student artist. "Bubalus Mechanica" reimagines one of the most recognizable symbols of the American West—the buffalo—in a creative steampunk-inspired design.

Part scientific illustration, part invention sketch, this mixed media work presents a mechanical bison complete with gears, gauges, and engineered components hidden beneath its exterior. Set against an aged parchment background, the piece feels like a page pulled from the notebook of an inventor exploring a uniquely American machine.

The buffalo has long symbolized strength, endurance, and the vast landscapes of the Great Plains. By combining this iconic animal with mechanical elements, the artist creates a fascinating blend of history, innovation, and imagination—qualities that have shaped America throughout its story.

"Bubalus Mechanica" is a wonderful example of how Americana can be interpreted through a contemporary lens while still honoring the symbols and heritage of the American West.
