Gambit had a great time jumping for the first day of Spring Dock Diving League a few weeks ago. He was jumping without hesitation. Thank you for the great photos. Thank you auntie for the assist on the dock so Gambit could get some big air.
The spoiled dogs finally got their Christmas present. Reka is on bed rest so could not train today. Gambit is not completely sure yet. Tally is killing it.

Happy National Golden Retriever Day! 🐾 May your day be filled with golden sunshine, wagging tails, and the kind of joy only a Golden can bring.

Look at that hair fly!!
Gambit did an amazing job world championship. He had fun and matched his personal best in Extreme Vertical of 5’10”. He even got to duel with his favorite kid, Jasmine. On his very last duel, he was racing against his sister Tally and ACTUALLY raced and almost beat her. We love that we have these amazing pictures from the photographers to always remember the event.
We can’t wait to see if Gambit can break past the 6 foot mark this year. 🐾

Finally catching up on the non-dock summer activities. Team Flying Gold got to compete in Fast Cat in Cheyenne, WY, Casper, WY, Dickinson, North Dakota.
The puppies were both super fast. Gambit averaged 25.06 mph for the year. Tally, our speedy girl, averaged 25.67 mph for the year. They were not as fast as their dad but they both inherited Jaeger’s focus on the lure and love to run.
Both Tally and Gambit received their BCAT titles and ended the season less than 60 points from achieving his DCAT. Can’t wait to see how they do next year.
As for mama. Reka, after she stopped half way down the course to stalk the lure, she has been retired from FastCat. She ended up as the last place Golden Retriever in the world with a 5.88 MPH average. She did get to get her second qualifying scores in 3 Scent Work areas. She was first in Novice 1st place in container search and 3rd place for interior and exterior searches.

Finally recovering from the 2025 Dock Dogs World Championships and able to post. It was a good week for Team Flying Gold.
As usual, Reka went into heat. This is the 5th out of 7 years that this has happened, so we are used to it.
🃏Gambit -
Our friend, Jasmine, got an invite to Dueling with him. After 6 duels and multiple buy backs, in the last duel, he finally jumped into the pool since he was racing his sister, Tally. He almost beat her and qualified for Class 4 finals. Unfortunately, Jasmine could not duel two dogs and she had to compete in finals with the granddog - Gemma Queen Bean.
He also got an Cadet Extreme Vertical invite with Tanya. He finished at the top of Cadet in both qualifying jumps with 5’10”. Once the bubble was set, he ended up being 12th in Tier 3. His nemesis is still 6” but we think this is his jam and will better as he gets older and his puppy brain matures.
🏎️ Talladega Nights “Tally”
Unlinke her brother, Tally was pure focus just like her daddy Jaeger was when he competed. She truly lives up to her moniker “I Wanna Go Fast.” Her favorite events are Dueling and Speed Retieve. She received invites in both disciplines with both Ron and Tanya. She completed every 12 duels and most buy backs. She barely missed the Tier 4 finals by less than a tenth of a second. IN Speed Retrieve, she made it to Tier 4 finals with Tanya and they finished in 3rd Place 🥉. She did so amazing.
🤺At the Golden Paws Gala, Ron received his 000 jacket which he earned at the 2024 World Championships. Throughout the season, Ron continued to work on his reaction times and he was also awarded the Fastest Handler award for the 2025 season.
It was bittersweet without Jaeger, since this was our first Worlds without him. But we had an amazing fun time with our Dock Dogs friends and families - the Misfit Mafia, Oklahoma Family, the camping crew, Kathy Maxfield-Duffy, and the Dock Dogs Staff. As always, the staff were wonderful, helpful, and supportive.
