Here’s something to improve your team dynamic‼️

I used to think being the leader meant having the answer ready. Every time.

Turns out that’s backwards.

Psychologist Ron Friedman studied what separates high performing teams (he calls them “superteams”) from average ones. One finding stuck with me: the leaders of those top teams were 33% more likely to admit when they didn’t know something. Not in spite of their results. It was part of how they got them.

There’s something that happens when a leader says “I’m not sure.” It quietly tells everyone else they can stop pretending too, and actually start solving the real problem.

So here’s a small thing to try this week. Instead of “how’s it going,” ask your team:

“What are you stuck on?”

It pulls the real stuff to the surface. What they’re working on, what’s in the way, where they need a hand, way before it turns into a missed deadline.

Friedman’s research (a survey of more than 6,000 workers) found superteams tend to share three habits. They guard their time and energy. They make each other better. And they keep growing, because someone made it safe to try, mess up, and learn out loud.

Curiosity spreads. But it has to start at the top.

So I’ll ask you what I keep asking myself: what’s something you don’t know right now, and who could you ask?

ASK PEAK….Survival mode hits different when you’ve been in it for two years 😮‍💨

And the hardest part? Nobody tells you when it’s supposed to end. You just keep grinding. Putting out fires, making decisions with half the information, carrying the vision while managing everything underneath it.

That’s not leadership. That’s exhaustion with a title.

Here’s what nobody says out loud. The exit from survival mode isn’t a better economy or a bigger contract. It’s a decision. A decision to stop managing chaos and start building something that doesn’t require you to be everywhere at once.

Peak Phillips exists for that moment. When you’re ready to stop surviving and start building we’re the support that makes it possible.

Fractional Chief of Staff services for founders, CEOs, and executives who are done doing it alone.
