Fireflies are really enjoying the sunchokes bed. I’d never noticed them on these before, but love that they are!

We’ve seen a lot more fireflies this year than we normally do. I’m not sure what has caused there to be fewer the last few years in our field or what conditions have changed this year to contribute to their being more. I wish I did so we could replicate it!

Woven bacon is the best way to provide the ideal bacon/bread/veggie ratio on a BLT. If you like 🥓 and haven’t tried it, you should!

The rain from the tropical depression made the run icky enough to motivate me to move the Eglu today. This really is a handy coop. I could never afford a NEW Eglu Omlet, but this secondhand one has been such a lifesaver so many times!

But if you’re looking for a simple and easy to clean set up and can/don’t mind spending on it, check out Eglu coops.

The heat is no joke these last couple of weeks, and the added stress of molting isn’t helping this poor girl.
I’ll be moving the pen this evening onto some tall grass/weeds so that transpiration will help keep them cooler. The grass doesn’t last long in this heat and drought!
