As the school year is coming to an end and the weather keeps shifting, routines change as well. That can affect regulation for everyone! Transitions, excitement, schedule changes and sensory differences can make it harder to stay organized, focused and calm. Sometimes we all need a few tools to help our bodies and brains out. Regulation isn’t about being perfectly calm all the time- it’s about having strategies that can help us get back to a place where can connect, learn and enjoy ourselves.

Couldn’t let the month go by without acknowledging Occupational Therapy Month! Occupational therapy supports children in building the skills they need to play, learn, grow, and gain independence-meeting them where they are and supporting who they are becoming. Shout out to our caring, creative and dedicated OT’s who make such a meaningful difference for our families.

Our “greenhouse” window craft is back! As our flowers grow so do important skills: fine motor strength (cutting, coloring, placing), executive function (planning, sequencing, following steps), attention and language. Hands-on, meaningful activities like this help children build the foundations they need for learning in a fun way!
