Sign and Play with Haylee

, she surprised us with a birth diagnosis of Down syndrome. We received early intervention services from the time she was just a few weeks old. As she grew and language became a focus for us, sign language was recommended by almost every professional we worked with. At the time it felt overwhelming and awkward, but 5 years later we are going strong! Margot is now considered verbal, but she knows and regularly uses hundreds of signs in her daily life. When our son, Max, came along he naturally picked up on the everyday signs we were using, and we have easily communicated with him since a very early age. I will never forget the look on my daughter’s face, knowing that she was heard and understood. I am now very passionate about fostering confidence and self expression in children. I am so excited to share this passion with the people in my community!
