First Lutheran Chattanooga

Today was a wonderful day to celebrate the Divine Service on this First Sunday after Trinity. Pastor Lehman reminded us of all the wonderful things happening with Christ’s work in Puerto Rico.

He also reminded us of the faith we have in Christ Jesus. Whether Puerto Rican or Chattanoogan, we are citizens, Christians together, of a higher kingdom which Christ has established through his blessed cross. His Word and Sacrament are everything to us.

We will continue to support Pastor Lehman, his family, and the mission work taking place in Puerto Rico as the Holy Spirit is drawing more Puerto Ricans to Christ through the Lutheran church.

Set Apart to Serve has developed tools and training for congregations around the essential experiences that lead youth to consider and pursue church work. Through these essential experiences, youth have the opportunity to observe, develop and practice skills that serve, influence, teach and organize others in our life together under the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions. You can help encourage a young person to pray about and consider a church work vocation by providing opportunities for these experiences. Youth begin seriously considering their future vocations in the years surrounding confirmation, and thus this is the age of greatest potential influence. You can help identify future church workers by watching and listening, talking with them about church work, and encouraging their developing interests and desire to serve.
