Always. Get. The. Last. Cat. 😵‍💫

Last fall we helped a caretaker TNR six of his colony kitties. He's a fantastic caretaker who feeds the cats twice a day, and he even turned a shed into the cats' safe space, complete with a cat door, feeding area, and shelters.

We weren't able to trap the last cat that week, and the caretaker ended up having some health issues. So he assured us that he would get the last cat neutered on his own once he was feeling better.

Fast forward to last week when we received a text that the last cat of the colony had some minor wounds from fighting. Life got busy, and the caretaker didn't get the last cat neutered as planned after all.

He changed all of that this week by borrowing a trap and trapping him on Tuesday. The seventh and final cat was neutered, vaccinated, ear tipped, and flea treated on Wednesday. Now this colony is 100% sterilized for real! 👏🏼

We have the absolute best supporters! You all donated enough on $5 Friday for us to spay/neuter 21 community cats! 🙌🏼 June will be yet another busy month of TNR, so we truly appreciate your generosity.

Today is $5 Friday if you'd like to support our TNR efforts! Donation link in the comments.

This year, we have Trapped-Neutered-Returned 169 community cats and counting! 🐈🐈‍⬛

It costs us $35 per cat for TNR services, and we rely solely on donations. This doesn't include the flea medication that we supply each cat or any extras, like antibiotic shots when needed.

As a reminder, we can help with TNR in the following areas in Chattanooga (TN) city limits: Hixson, Red Bank, Lakesite, East Brainerd, Brainerd, and East Ridge. If you are outside these areas, we are happy to guide you.

Also, since we are working off a waitlist, you'll first receive an email from us at one of two accounts, [email protected] or [email protected]. So please monitor your inbox if you submit an application for assistance.

This was a hard week of TNR. The weather has been so unpredictable that it's been difficult to plan. The remaining stragglers from the colonies we are working on decided not to show up, and we had one trap malfunction. Every colony has kittens right now, which makes everything so much more complicated. Sadly, there will not be placement for every kitten born.

Today, we had three community cats spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, and ear tipped at McKamey Animal Center. The male cat had his wounds clipped, cleaned, and received a long-lasting antibiotic injection. The two females will never have to endure another litter of kittens. We keep seeing people posting about only spaying the females, but please spay AND neuter!
