Here is a little Ram Dass collage art project I made today. This is one of my favorite quotes by Ram Dass, it holds a very special place in my heart.

What if Picasso painted the Mona Lisa? What if he did it during his cubism period? What if he used an iPad instead of paint and canvas? What if you chose to imagine it? What if you chose to create it?

This took so much time. I went through so many phases with this piece. I loved it, I hated it, then I thought it was just alright, then I did that again over and over. I had such high expectations and it’s hard not to fall into comparison when you’re trying to mix the work and styles of the greats. Sometimes you have to let go of comparisons and expectations though. Sometimes you have to let go of the final result. Sometimes you have to just be happy about the fact that you made some really weird art that is unlike anything you’ve ever done. Sometimes you have to understand that’s where the true value of creating art is found. It’s not the final product, it’s pushing yourself out of your comfort zone for the sake of trying something new and fully forcing yourself to be creative. Art and creation is about enjoying. Enjoy
