Seas the Day brings veterans, families, service organizations and local businesses supporting veterans together for a fun-filled day of outdoor activity and meaningful community connection.

ParadeRest’s Called To Serve program helps young men and women explore future military service through a combination of academic tutoring, physical fitness preparation, and exposure to the realities of service.

The program includes academic tutoring designed to help students meet the educational standards required for military service. Participants also engage with veterans and current service members who share their experiences and help young people better understand the responsibilities and opportunities that come with serving the nation.

A core component of the program is physical fitness preparation, where participants build strength, endurance, and discipline while preparing for the physical demands of military service.

American composers have long celebrated the stories and places that are uniquely American. On July 18th, journey through picturesque New England, the hollers of Appalachia, and the waving plains of the Midwest as our Ader Emerging Artists, local adult and youth chorus, and Charlottesville Opera orchestra under the direction of Jeremy Thompson perform staged excepts from Susannah, The Tender Land, Little Women, and more!

Military uniforms tell a story of service, sacrifice and tradition.

Join us for the Virginia War Memorial's free online program at 10:30 a.m., June 30. Master Sergeant (Ret.) Jeannine Franz, USMC, explores the history and evolution of military uniforms and the veterans who wore them.

The USMNT has clinched first place in Group D, and The Paramount Theater of Charlottesville invites the community to join them on Wednesday at 8:00PM for the World Cup 2026 Round of 32 knockout match.

Admission is FREE, and concessions will be available for purchase. Advance registration is highly recommended as we anticipate heavy interest for this event. Your registration does NOT guarantee admission. Please arrive early to claim your seat. Unclaimed seats will be offered to the Wait List and Standby Line 15 minutes before the event time.
