Prepress/Print Production Specialist:

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Prepress/Print Production Specialist. The job functions include efficient use of Adobe Creative Suite as well as other print software to prepare customer artwork for printing. We use the latest in offset and digital printing systems offering the best quality service in Central Virginia. We are a small independent company with a loyal client base and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

• Be a key member in our fast-paced, highly productive, and high-quality production team.
• Read and understand production orders from job tickets to verify types of projects and any special instructions or requirements for print production.
• Determine print layout based on print sheet size, artwork size, and other production constrains.
• Work with sales team for artwork modification and approval.
• Prepare artwork for Offset press, Digital press and large format printing using RIP software.
• Communicate with team members on artwork status verbally and/or electronically.
• Create cutline for die cut projects and communicate with die manufacturers.
• Maintain job library files

Qualifications:

• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
• Proficient in MS Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and use of a PC
• Experience in Graphic Design helpful
• Understanding of print layout, colors, and image resolution helpful
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle a fast-paced, deadline-driven, production atmosphere
• Ability to work under tight time constraints with changing priorities
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• The ability to patiently explain technical terms to non-technical people

Job Type:

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 hour shift
