s a m p l e s !
recently i broke down a pit of soles in order to do glue tests for different contact cements i’ve been using. this is ironic because i had to sacrifice a previous jordan 1 build, but that’s okay. i used regular barge, barge super stik, and renia cdc. with these tests, i let the glue set for various times, reheated some, applied primer on a few, and tried different amounts of glue. in these tests, renia cdc yielded the best results. in theory they all should “work” but time will tell. shoemaking is trial & error.
if you have any glue tips - post them below 👇🏽 ⬇️ !

my first attempt at building the 1985 jordan 1 high from scratch, using veg tan leather, angelus shoe paint, screen printing, coffee dying, and outsourcing materials. this was a challenge like no other. some things worked well and some things flopped but when it all came together it turned out better than i thought it would. it’s crazy to make something you can wear. i’ve always been a sneaker fan and i never thought i would be able to make my own pair. this is a spin off from the original chicago colorway. i’ve learned from mistake and hope to adjust moving forward but man, this is cool! next shoe on the way soon!

BIG thanks to:
