Smoke from the Canadian wildfires has impacted the air quality in the Charlottesville area, and it's forecast to escalate starting tomorrow, July 17.
Community members should use their best judgement when spending time outdoors. Children, senior citizens, and those with preexisting medical conditions - particularly heart or lung disease - should avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
Consider wearing an N95 mask to reduce exposure to air pollutants. Keep doors, windows, and fireplaces closed and air conditioning running on a recirculation setting.
