Patients pay via a monthly membership fee which covers all office visits and care over the phone. Please consider sending a quick email to Gov. McAuliffe by Mar 21 to help protect Direct Primary Care practices like ours. DPC practices, because we do not bill insurance, are able to make primary care affordable to people with high deductible insurance or no insurance, and allow doctors to spend more time with patients than is possible in an insurance-based setting. The Gov. has until Mar 27 to sign or veto two bills that protect Virginia DPC practices. These bills have passed both the House and Senate with bipartisan support. Last year a similar bill was vetoed by Gov. McAuliffe after it was opposed by only the insurance lobby, while being supported by patients, physicians, and small businesses. We will be meeting with the Governor’s staff this Wed Mar 22.
