Here’s what to do before you buy:
• Make sure the template has pages you can grow into — sales pages, podcast pages, portfolio or product pages, freebie pages, and a solid blog layout.
• Do a quick competitor scan so you’re not choosing the same template everyone in your niche is already using.
• Audit the structure (not just the aesthetic). Does the homepage flow well? Are the calls-to-action clear? Does the services page convert?
• Preview the mobile layout — because that’s where most of your traffic will land.

Buying the template is the fun part, customizing it is where most business owners get stuck.
