We're excited to welcome Cory Bennett, Danielle Frazier, Rick Lich, and Dr. LaToya Russell Owens to the Communities In Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Directors.

Their leadership, expertise, and commitment to creating opportunities for young people will help strengthen our mission of surrounding students with the support they need to stay in school and achieve in life.

We are grateful to all of our board members—past and present—whose dedication, service, and belief in our students continue to move our mission forward. Together, we're building brighter futures for Charlotte-Mecklenburg students.

With you every step of the way. 🎓💙

Graduation season is one of our favorite times of year because we get to celebrate the hard work, resilience, and determination of our students as they cross the stage and into their next chapter.

This photo features Student Support Specialist Stephen Thomas from Garinger High School celebrating with one of his scholars—a moment that reflects what CIS is all about: showing up, building relationships, and supporting students every step of the way.

Success doesn't happen alone. It happens when students have caring adults in their corner who believe in them, encourage them, and help them navigate challenges along the way.

Join us in celebrating the Class of 2026 and all they've accomplished. The future is bright. ✨

What a day! 🎉🍽️

Dine Out For Kids® was filled with great food, big hearts, and an incredible community coming together for students.

To our sponsors, restaurant partners, and everyone who grabbed a meal, coffee, snack, or sweet treat in support of CIS—thank you! Because of you, students across Charlotte-Mecklenburg will continue to have caring adults, critical resources, and the support they need to thrive.

We loved seeing our community show up, dine out, and make a difference. Your generosity turned everyday meals into opportunities for students and helped make this year's event one to remember.

From all of us at CIS, thank you for helping us serve up brighter futures for kids. 💙
