Hi everyone! โ๏ธ Wow, days like today make me excited for summer.
The breeze, the light, people out walkingโฆ it reminds me how nice it is when kids have space to slow down and just create.
This summer Iโm hosting a Summer Studio at Davidson Town Hall for ages 11โ15, in partnership with Davidson Parks and Recreation, inside the beautifully remodeled Town Hall auditorium.
Itโs not a loud camp environment. Think more of a relaxed studio space where students can spread out and work on drawing (yes, manga too), weaving on real looms, filmmaking, painting, or mixed media.
Some kids like to work quietly, others like sharing ideas and collaborating. Both are welcome.
We already have a small group of 12โ14 year olds forming, which Iโm really excited about, and itโs shaping up to be a really thoughtful group.
My goal is simply to create a space where creative kids can spend time doing what they love and leave the week proud of what they made.
If your young person enjoys making and creating, they would likely feel very at home in this kind of studio environment.
