Rev. Joshua Case
Joshua's work is curating in-person and online experiences that invite personal and spiritual transformation.
Merry Christmas all! May the grace of God draw especially close these days as we remember and retell the story of Christ's incarnation.

I wrote a devotion inspired by todays celebration of St. Mary. As a Baptist kid from Alabama, I didn't grow up thinking much about her really, except maybe at Christmas. Now, we walk together often. I hope you enjoy!
Gathered Into God: A Devotion for Saint Mary the Virgin It is the middle of August. The air is thick as syrup, the fields gone golden, the figs fattening on the limb. In the old country, they’d…
Here's a poem for this Sunday. We are wandering and wondering in the Gap of Dunloe. Magical and Thin. Grounded and wild. Thankful for sabbath. Praying for so many going through so much.

Sabbath at the Gap
The wind prays first—
before I can form a word.
It rustles the birch,
bends them into bowing,
leaf by leaf like pages turning
in a book of grace.
Mist arrives without asking,
a hush of holy,
followed by showers
and sudden rainbows
like a whisper from the beyond:
I’m still here.
Prayer flags stretch and shiver—
not from fear,
but from the Spirit
passing through.
We walked this path,
not to arrive,
but to listen.
To let the hush hush us.
To let the land remind us
that God still speaks
in wind, in water,
in the spaces between stones.
And so we pause—
not to mark it ours,
but to mark it blessed.
“Peace to this place,”
the teacher once said.
Not if it receives you.
Not if it’s ready.
Just: Peace.
And we let that word linger—
as the birch bows again,
as the rainbow fades,
as the wind moves on
to pray elsewhere.

I'm doing it again, and I cannot wait to see what emerges. Join me in reading Animal Farm and let's see what we might learn all over again.
Animal Farm, Every Summer: Leadership, Community, and the Spiritual Task of Discernment For over 20 years now, I’ve read Animal Farm every summer. Some folks read romance. I go to Orwell’s barnyard.
