Born in Durham and raised in Charlotte, Mayor Talib was always surrounded by HBCU graduates, HBCU culture, and a burgeoning North Carolina hip-hop scene. A spontaneous song writing session with friends motivated Mayor Talib to use music as his primary creative outlet.
