With deep gratitude and a heavy heart, we write to share that after ninety-six years of service, Community Link will be officially closing its doors and ceasing all operations as of June 20, 2025.



This decision was not made lightly. After thorough consideration of our mission, resources, and the changing landscape of our field, our leadership and board concluded that winding down the organization is the most responsible and ethical course forward. While this chapter ends, we are so proud of what we’ve accomplished — and deeply thankful for the support of donors like you who have made our work possible.



Over the years, your generosity has enabled us to provide housing assistance to thousands of homeless families and individuals across 21 counties in North Carolina, as well as provide home ownership education and counseling to first time homeowners, as well as prepare over 20,000 tax returns for low to moderate income individuals. Together, we have made a lasting impact in the lives of those we served, and that legacy will remain a testament to your commitment and compassion.

Please know that Community Link’s Asset Building program will be administered by the Ada Jenkins Center, ensuring continued benefit to the community we served and beyond. This opportunity will allow our team to still provide Home Ownership Education and Counseling, Foreclosure Prevention and Free Tax preparation to the community.

✨It's TAX SEASON! ✨ We train volunteers to prepare and maximize your tax return for free. We team up with partner sites to offer free tax prep all around Charlotte/Mecklenburg.

Who qualifies for Free Tax Prep CLT?
- People who generally make $67,000 or less
- Persons with disabilities; and
- Limited English-speaking taxpayers
- No age restriction or income limitation

All volunteers IRS certified to ensure the quality and accuracy of your tax return

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (5:30pm - 8pm) from February 3rd through April 15th, 2025. No appointment necessary (first come, first serve)
