We invite you to get ready to shape the conversation at the Charlotte Justice Conference using Open Space Technology!

We are so excited to practice this conversational technology with you to help us find the conversations that matter for the moment we are in.

Open Space Technology is like creating a cozy living room for meaningful conversations. Instead of traditional lectures all day long, we’re empowering YOU to drive discussions on issues that matter most.

Our speakers will help spark ideas and insights in their morning thoughts and then we will find the conversation that is animating life in us for the afternoon session.

We’ll be sharing more instructions and how the process will work at the conference.

Amy brings her passion for people power in making the community better. She founded BeLoved Asheville to be a place where people of all walks of life could come together to create powerful solutions to common struggles and a Western North Carolina and world where everyone thrives. She has spent three decades working on the ground building intersectional community, creating mutual aid networks and creating social change. Recently, she passed the NASCLA licensing exam and obtained her general contractors license to support BeLoved’s affordable housing efforts. Amy loves being mom to twin 10 year olds, Myla and Eleecia. She loves the color purple, playing guitar, making art, and studying movement history.

Ponkho, Co-Director at BeLoved Asheville, is a strong activist and indigenous/Latinx community organizer who is brilliant at innovation and is also BeLoved’s media expert. He loves supporting the community in expressing cultural pride, honoring ancestors, and teaching our youth their cultural roots. He loves photography, art, music, and creativity and he uses these gifts to celebrate culture and work for racial equity and social justice. He has been instrumental in BeLoved’s rapid response to ICE raids, flooding, and the COVID-19 pandemic; the BeLoved Village of deeply affordable homes with equity, Asheville en Espanol, and our first in the nation homeless/formerly homeless street medic team.
