Meet our friend and creative collaborator for well over a decade, Alex. He lives in Odessa. His wife and son fled to Bulgaria πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬ last Sunday night. Alex stays behind caring for his 72-year-old in-laws, who have moved in with him to flee from danger. His mom, 64, lives a 10-minute walk away.

Eight years ago, we were worried for his safety, but he said β€œI’m safe. I’m on the west side.” Now we worry again and he does too.

He said yesterday, β€œI am trying not to be hateful. To focus on love and light.”

He does not have a gun. He continues to work to keep his mind focused on a positive outcome. He said in the beginning there was a lot of big fear, but now things feel different. Ukrainians feel they will win. Good will prevail over a man’s sickness and evil.

He knows he has a β€œrefugee” home here in Charlotte, but he wants to live in Ukraine. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

He sent a photo of the new snowfall today and the Christmas tree they kept up through February, because his son loves it so much. β™₯️

A shoot inspired a story about Sisters Cove in the current issue of magazine!

What a tranquil place to live. Lake living at its best.

Great article about our first development, Sisters Cove, out now in the beautiful summer issue of magazine! We are proud of Sisters Cove, and its history as pastureland for dairy cows. Good story. And we enjoy helping the Cornelius family to take care of their cattle and hens at their historic family legacy Red Barn. πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ πŸ„ πŸ“ 🚜
