There's a funny story behind the name of the company: Twisted Slip. One day, founder Erin Turner was putting on a skirt that had a back zipper as well as an attached slip, and the slip got caught in the zipper. Because her husband was already at work, she had no one to help her. She kept spinning around like a dog chasing its tail, trying to undo the zipper, but it was stuck. This is the kind of problem that women face every day.

That incident caused a cascade of thoughts about how inconvenient women's clothing can be, as though designers are often just using templates for men to make women's clothing, or aren't thinking about convenience at all in regards to women's clothing—or even women's accessories. (To the women out there: Have you ever just given up trying to zip up the back zipper on a dress on your own? Or ripped a fingernail trying to use a necklace clasp?)

Erin has had many ideas about innovation that would women would like, and has begun the process of creating her brand, Twisted Slip.
