Here are some of the biggest design trends we're looking forward to in 2023:
✨ 3D Visuals
Minimalism has been pervasive the last few years and now design hits back! 3D visuals seem to be making a rise within the design community, combating the simpler themes that the collective has been leaning toward
✨Minimalist Illustrations
You can see AI images just about everywhere these days, so it's refreshing to see artists integrate their illustrative talents into logos and branding as of late. There will likely be a rise in hand drawn illustration with audiences craving more "authentic" pieces and experiences with brands.
✨ Text Only Logos
Minimalism isn't out yet. Simple really is best and the bold monograms and clean fonts seem to be here to stay. It's classic, iconic, and timeless. These are definitely logos that will grow with their companies
👉 In 2014, my first job as a graphic designer was at a t-shirt shop. I was making $9 an hour and driving nearly 2 hours to get to work. There were little to no design opportunities in my hometown and I couldn't afford to move to the city. So many customers at this job enjoyed by work and inspired me to keep going.
👉 By 2016, I was at a new job creating websites for local schools' sportswear. It was my first taste of creating websites professionally
👉 In 2020 the world stopped and I lost my job to COVID. I got rejected in the last round of a job I really wanted and 3 jobs that I was hired for fell through before I was onboarded.
Once again, I was feeling broke, uninspired, and hopeless.
👉 By the end of 2020, I landed my first job as a UX Designer at a startup in the city! I designed their website from the ground up and worked directly with other designers to create their brand. Our small team got to work with multimillion dollar projects! I moved into the city in a trendy neighborhood that I adored.
👉 2022, I was a Senior UX Designer and tech lead within FinTech. By then I was working on AI chat bots and creating branding for a nationally recognized company.
✨ I was able to achieve all this and more because I created a brand for myself, my career, and the businesses I had the privilege of creating for. Why can't you be next?✨
