Mayra For Congress

Rican parents who instilled in her the values of service, hard work, and resilience. She is the first Latina elected to a leadership position in the South Carolina Democratic Party, where she has helped shape policy, organize statewide campaigns, and mentor the next generation of Democratic leaders. Mayra’s deep roots in civic, educational, and political life have earned her respect across the district as a thoughtful, inclusive, and determined advocate for working families. Before coming to South Carolina, Mayra served as Deputy Secretary to the Puerto Rico Election Commission and held senior advisory roles to the Senate of Puerto Rico and the Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce. Her public service extended to the Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting and multiple nonprofit foundations focused on housing, vocational education, and labor rights. Mayra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Juris Doctor in Law, and a Master’s Degree in International Law, Foreign Trade, and International Relations. Her lived experience, professional background, and steadfast commitment to justice make her the strongest candidate to take on Nancy Mace and deliver real results for South Carolina’s 1st District.
