🏡✨ A new chapter of Folly Beach history is waiting to be discovered. ✨🏡

The Folly Beach Historical Society has unveiled a new exhibit, "The Porgy House: A Cottage on an Island in a Culture," now on display at the Folly Beach History Museum.

The exhibit explores the remarkable story of the Porgy House, the summer cottage where author DuBose Heyward, Dorothy Heyward, and composer George Gershwin collaborated on Porgy and Bess. Through photographs, artifacts, historic documents, and personal correspondence, visitors can experience the people, places, and culture that helped shape one of America's most celebrated musical works.

Located inside the Folly Beach Community Center at 55 Center Street, the exhibit offers another fascinating way to experience the rich history that makes the Edge of America so unique.
