Business Travel Deductions: How Much Can You Really Save? 💼✈️💰
You might not love bookkeeping, but you probably DO love saving money on your taxes!
So let's talk numbers – specifically, what percentage of your business travel expenses you can actually deduct?
Here's a breakdown of common travel expenses and their typical deduction rates:
🏨 Lodging: 100% deductible
🍽️ Meals: 50% deductible (100% for certain industries in 2021-2022)
✈️ Transportation (flights, trains): 100% deductible
🚗 Personal vehicle use: 56¢ per mile (2021 rate)
🚕 Taxis, shuttles at destination: 100% deductible
📞 Business calls and internet: 100% deductible

3️⃣ Properly documented (keep those receipts!)
Pro tip: The rules can get tricky, especially for mixed business/personal trips or luxury expenses. That's where having a trusted bookkeeper can really pay off!
