We will host community events, online web series, news articles, investigative reporting, etc., in an effort to control our own narrative. BlackLight Initiative's goal is to build a true, strong Black community to leverage our power for economic, political, and social empowerment.

On Apr. 2, at 6 p.m., a financial literacy class will be held at Mary C. Snow West Side Elementary School, 100 Florida St., Charleston. Participants will learn about scams, unbanked/underbanked and smart planning. The class is FREE, but pre-registration is required; call 304-356-2023.
