Easing in:

Saturday: 21×20 seconds at 5:30/mi, 1-min jog.

Today: 5×1 minute at 5:20/mi, 90-sec jog.

Baseline set. Feeling strong, even with some lingering post-travel sickness.

Intervals stretch out from here. The build has started.

Tunnel Hill:
I went in with a plan: start at 7:40, settle by heart rate, trust the work. I locked into 7:20 and held stronger than I ever have—the kind of strong where a negative split doesn’t feel ambitious, it feels inevitable. I was tracking 6:10/5:50 fifties.

Then, around mile 45, my stomach turned.

I’ve been chasing races like this since Canal Corridor in 2022. Different races, different problems, same outcome. I shifted to the 50-mile and came through in 6:09.

Here’s what I know: the fitness is there. The pacing is there. The strength is there. This isn’t bad luck. It’s a problem to solve—and I’m solving it.

This is the patient game. Not hoping issues disappear, but hunting them down.

I’ll be posting consistently again—not for noise, but to document the work. If you’re here for the process, stay close.

Next race, I’m going faster. And I’m going the full distance.
