So it was fitting that my first job was working in a jewelry store at the age of 15. I grew up in the heart of the southwest and while living there fell in love with unique handmade jewelry. The idea of buying a piece of jewelry directly from the hands that created it thrilled me. I also enjoyed knowing I had bought a piece of jewelry containing genuine stones only God could create. The variations
of color and texture a genuine stone can bring to a piece of jewelry are not only beautiful but endless. My life has been full of many changes over the last 10 years, but one of the things that hasn’t changed is my love for jewelry! Being a busy mom, student, wife and so on, I found I needed a creative outlet. I also missed the jewelry shopping experiences of New Mexico. So I decided I would learn to make jewelry. I began researching genuine stones, how I could acquire them and spent many hours at book and craft stores reading and learning about beaded jewelry. I also caught myself constantly shopping for that rare bead find. During trips back to New Mexico I always found myself at local bead stores. So what started as a hobby soon turned into a time consuming trade. My oldest son, who at the time was still too young for school began calling my creations, “Mommy’s rocks!"
I decided to sell my "rocks” in hopes of sharing my passion for handmade jewelry with others. Each piece I make is guaranteed to be one of a kind and uniquely made by me. My hope is that each person that acquires one of my creations will be as happy wearing it as I was making it. I want the message behind each piece to be one of a kind style. For each piece to contain genuine and quality materials such as semiprecious stones that naturally vary in color, texture and patterns. I want women who discover my jewelry to know they are getting quality jewelry that is uniquely made just for them. We are all unique so each piece of jewelry should reflect that! My hope is that once I acquire a new customer they continue to return because they feel Jessica's Elements jewelry fits them best!
