Just wrapped up a marble countertop restoration in Washington, DC.
This kitchen island had simply dulled over the years; nothing unusual for a surface that gets used every day. The marble itself was in great shape, it just needed the finish brought back to life.
We honed and polished the full countertop using the same Old World techniques we use on everything from residential kitchens to historic buildings. No waxes. No harsh chemicals. Just the stone, restored.
If your countertops, floors, or bathroom stone look worn, it is almost always the finish, not the stone. Restoration is a fraction of the cost of replacement, and the results speak for themselves.

That reflection in the marble is not a filter. Those are the stained glass windows at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, mirrored in the sanctuary floor after restoration.
Marble floors in churches see a lot of wear from foot traffic. Over time the surface dulls and the stone loses that deep clarity it had when it was first installed. Replacing it would cost a fortune and disrupt the space for weeks.
Restoration brings it back. We honed and polished this floor using the same Old World techniques used on European cathedrals for centuries. No waxes, no chemicals, just the natural stone restored to its original finish.
If your church, office, or home has stone that has lost its shine, don't replace it. Call (703) 631-4625 or visit marbledoctorva.com for a free estimate.

Commercial travertine elevator lobby, before and after. Years of heavy foot traffic had taken a toll on the surface, and a prior cleaning attempt with the wrong products had darkened the grout lines further and dulled the finish.
We deep-cleaned the travertine and restored it to its original luster throughout the lobby floor. It's a common situation. Natural stone responds poorly to the wrong chemicals, and what starts as a maintenance effort can compound the problem. The good news is it's almost always recoverable.
Building lobbies set the tone for the entire property. When the stone starts to show wear, restoration brings it back without the cost or disruption of replacement.
If you manage a commercial property in the DC metro area, we'd be glad to take a look.
