WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:
An estimated 70 percent of people consult their horoscope daily. While some do this for fun, many use astrology as a guide for making decisions. Others seek counsel from psychics or dream interpreters. Self-help books abound, and seminars draw crowds of seekers who hope to find answers to life’s questions. It seems most people look everywhere but to the true source of knowledge and wisdom. Even Christians search for solutions to their problems in the world rather than in the Word. Isaiah’s advice is as relevant today as it was more than 2,700 years ago. God calls believers to honor Him. They need to have a fear of Him rather than a fear of circumstances or a fear of others. Those who fear the Lord hold Him in awe. This healthy fear replaces other fears with a sense of security. God can be trusted. He knows the present and the future. He is in control.
