My in house oil infusions can hold up production by 4 to 6 weeks. I’ll never change that.

When you steep dried botanicals in oil, the oil draws out the fat-soluble compounds from the plant over time. Triterpenes, carotenoids, flavonoids, resins. The compounds that actually do something on your skin. You can’t rush that process and get the same result. Time is part of the mechanism.

As a pharmacist I think about botanical infusions the way I think about any preparation. Concentration, steep time, storage conditions, ingredient quality. Every variable affects what ends up in the formula and what ends up on your skin. That level of control is why I infuse in house. It’s the only way to know exactly what you’re working with.

Even as a one woman brand, that’s worth the wait.
