One More Hour. One More Day.

Today was a FANTASTIC day of baseball. I am so proud of these young men. This entire season we have been faced with adversity and today we answered the test. Showing up to park for our first game in 95 degree heat was a battle all by itself. Our boys stepped up to the challenge with being the Away team in all three games and taking care of business.

My message to our team was that everyone was playing in the same conditions so we won’t make any excuses. We were in an uphill battle in all three games today and these young men found away to make it happen no matter if the odds were against us.

As a group we have had a lot of highs and lows and I would always question myself through to low moments. Asking myself am I being a good leader? Am I doing something wrong? Are my boys learning from the coaching? Why can’t we get over the hump? What I realized today is that we needed all of those low moments, so we could have the experience of knowing how to control the game when we were hit with a challenge. Those moments helped us to stay focused the entire day and because of that we came home tonight as WINNERS!

Our team motto has been to make the FUNDAMENTAL plays FUNDAMENTAL by keeping it simple. From the first pitch of the game to the last out of the game it took a COMPLETE effort from every player on the team to bring this Championship home tonight. Enjoy this one men because it was EARNED not GIVEN!
